Four WA shorts developed and produced for Perth Festival’s Water Features

In a joint initiative between Screenwest and Perth Festival, Water Features has supported the development and production of four short films, made by secondary school students with professional film crews with all films produced by established producer, Kenta McGrath.

Screenwest’s partnership with Perth Festival has allowed for the festival to get involved in the creation of Western Australian content on the topic of ‘water that is important to you.’

Water Features is a part of Perth Festival’s two-year collaboration with UK artist Amy Sharrocks and highlights, in a very personal way, the importance of water to all of our lives.

This creative brief was inspired by Museum of Water, a globally-touring exhibition which is itself part of Perth Festival 2018.

Water Features has also provided a mentorship program for young filmmakers who in the development of their films, participated in collaborative workshops which included skills development in storytelling, investigation, research, interviewing, editing and sound-design.

The films will be screened prior to feature films in the Lotterywest Film program at UWA Somerville and ECU Joondlaup Pines and tickets can be purchased here.
