Flickerfest returns to Western Australia after its 27th anniversary screening in Bondi, which featured five shorts involving Western Australia creatives selected in the program; LET’S SEE HOW FAST THIS BABY WILL GO, MRS MCCUTCHEON, BLIGHT, MARTHA THE MONSTER and DEIGHTIES!
The 2018 Western Australia Flickerfest Tour will visit Perth for four nights and an additional seven regional locations, kicking off in Denmark last week and Hopetoun next up Saturday, 24 February.
Each night will have a specially selected shorts program, so be sure to check the Flickerfest website for details.
In addition to the program listed, there will be special screenings of Western Australian shorts as noted below. This is a fantastic opportunity for the local community to connect with Western Australian content and, in selected locations, meet the filmmakers.
Festival Director, Bronwyn Kidd will be presenting a free Masterclass about the world of short film at the SAE Creative Media Institute Perth Campus on Friday, 2 March from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Kidd will provide a unique insight into trends and tastes of the short film festival circuit and discuss festival targeting strategies, marketing and distribution of short films. The event is open to everyone, however registration is essential and can be done here.
The 2018 Western Australia Flickerfest Tour and Masterclass is proudly supported by Screenwest and Lotterywest.
