Screenwest is pleased to announce a paid Director’s Attachment is available for a Western Australian First Nations screen practitioner through the Screenwest Professional Development Placements Program on an upcoming television series based in Perth.
About the attachment
Role: First Nations Director’s Attachment
Dates: 20 March 2025 – 30 April 2025
Location: Perth
Production Company: BBC Studios Australia
The successful candidate will complete six consecutive weeks as a paid Director’s Attachment under the expert guidance of director Christiaan Van Vuuren where you will:
- Observe, shadow and have access to the director’s process across rehearsals, pre-production and production (in studio and on location).
If the right candidate cannot be found for this role, the attachment may be offered in another department.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Professional Placement Guidelines and Screenwest Terms of Trade the successful applicant will:
- Be a Western Australian First Nations screen practitioner
- Have directed at least two short film projects (web series or short film)
- Have previous experience on-set or in production office in a crew role
- Possess a strong interest in comedy and the sitcom format
- Be working toward a career in directing television
- Have a valid driver’s licence (ideal, not essential)
