A Professional Attachment opportunity is available for a Kimberly resident through the Screenwest Crew Attachment Program on upcoming documentary series Shipwreck Hunters Australia. Applications close Monday, 12 July 2021 at 5:00pm AWST.
About the Attachment
The successful candidate (a Kimberly resident) will complete a 5-Week Field Researcher Attachment under the expert guidance of Katherine Barrett where they will:
- have the opportunity to work with the editorial team of a new production.
- fulfill an editorial research brief.
- assist with local logistics that in turn will help the editorial process.
- gain experience in the research process for editorial purposes.
- work with the production team and help them research local facilities that will assist the field team when they are on location.
- gain experience in planning and prep time as well as exposure to the production when filming on shore.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- a commitment to developing a career in documentary television.
- a passion for marine life and the history of Western Australia.
- the ability to work remotely with direction from the production office in Fremantle.
- an interest in gaining experience in researching and writing for television.
- an enthusiastic attitude.
- good attention to detail.
- the ability to work on a fast turnaround basis if required.
- access to a computer and the internet.
- the means to travel to various locations as required.
- Successful applicant will be a Kimberley Resident, preferably residing in or near Broome.
Attachment Conditions
It is expected the successful Attachment will:
- Comply with the Producer’s workplace rules and requirements for safety and behaviour.
- Comply with all lawful and reasonable directions given to the Attachment by officers or employees of the Producer during the Term of the Attachment.
- Keep confidential any and all confidential information of the Producer that comes into the Attachment’s possession.
