Screenwest Streamlines Feature Track and Small Screen into Scripted Development Funding
Screenwest is pleased to announce it has now streamlined the Feature Track and Small Screen Scripted Development funding initiatives. Guidelines for the new Scripted Development Funding initiative are available now!
In response to the change in the global screen content creation and distribution landscape, Screenwest has updated its Scripted Development Funding initiatives and will accept applications for scripted features or series for all delivery platforms, including theatrical, television broadcast and digital streaming.
The sleek, restructured initiative will provide funding for concept or project development to emerging and experienced Western Australian screen practitioners to develop high quality, distinctive projects that can reach a target audience and attract further investment or market partners.
It is anticipated that two intakes will be offered within the 2020-21 financial year, including this intake, with the second to open in early February 2021.
Screenwest Development Manager, Barbara Connell explained, “With a rapidly changing market and the need for content, it made sense for Screenwest to streamline Feature Track and Small Screen into a more flexible funding initiative to support the development of the type of content the marketplace demands.”
Applications for the first Scripted Development Funding intake will open on Monday, 27 July 2020; however, the guidelines are available now for applicants to review.
How to Apply
The full guidelines, application materials and eligibility criteria are available on the Development page of the Screenwest website.

Once the applicant has applied, an automated application receipt will be sent to the applicant through SmartyGrants. If this receipt has not been received within two working days of submission, it is the applicant’s responsibility to contact Screenwest to follow up.
Applications open on Monday, 27 July 2020 and close Monday, 7 September 2020 at 5:00pm AWST.
