Expression of interest: Executive Producer opportunity for Elevate 2024

Screenwest invites expressions of interest from experienced Western Australian producers and production companies interested in executive producing the Elevate 2024 projects.

Elevate is a skills development initiative for early-to-mid career WA key creatives that provides production funding for a short form scripted project (film or series) up to 10 minutes in length.

Responsibilities

The successful Executive Producer will:

Contract directly with Screenwest.
Be available to participate in the Elevate project assessment panel.
Supervise and guide the selected Elevate teams through contracting, production and the delivery of their projects.
Ensure each Elevate team complies with all applicable laws relating to the production of their project including occupational health and safety and employment laws.
Ensure the final delivery of the Elevate projects to Screenwest occurs in a timely manner.
Liaise closely with Screenwest throughout the process.

Eligibility

The producer / production company must:

Be a Western Australian resident producer / production company with a track record of producing or line managing theatrically released feature film/s and/or broadcast television programs.
Be a proprietary limited company with a valid Australian Business Number (ABN).
Be available from September 2024 to participate in the assessment of the Elevate projects and to oversee the contracting, production and delivery of the selected projects, which are expected to enter production in 2025.

Assessment Criteria

Screenwest will competitively assess eligible expressions of interest against the following criteria:

The producer / production company’s track record and demonstrated ability to deliver the Elevate projects on schedule, on budget and to a high standard.
The producer / production company’s ability to deliver creative guidance and logistical support to filmmakers.

How to Apply

Submission Materials:

A two page (maximum) proposal outlining:
- Your track record producing or line managing theatrically released feature film/s and or broadcast television program/s.
- Your ability to deliver projects on schedule, within budget and to a high standard.
- How you will ensure that the necessary creative guidance and logistical assistance is given to the Elevate teams.
A current CV of the producer and any key personnel who may be involved in overseeing the Elevate projects.
