Executive Producer opportunity available on Elevate 2022
Screenwest is seeking expressions of interest from experienced WA producers and production companies interested in overseeing the Elevate 2022 projects, as Executive Producer.
Screenwest is seeking expressions of interest from Western Australian producers or production companies interested in coming on board as Executive Producer to oversee the selection, contracting, production and delivery of Elevate 2022.
Elevate invests in the professional skills development of our most talented emerging filmmakers who are committed to a career in film and television.
Eligibility
- Western Australian resident producers and production companies with a track record of producing or line managing theatrically-released feature film and/or broadcast television programs who can demonstrably provide the creative and logistical support necessary to deliver the short form projects to a high standard.
- The Applicant must be a proprietary limited company with a valid Australian Business Number (ABN).
It is anticipated the EP responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Availability from September 2022 to oversee the selection, contracting, production and delivery of all Elevate 2022 projects, which are expected to enter production in 2023.
- Contracting directly with Screenwest.
- Providing supervision and production support including assistance with appropriate insurances, workers compensation, payroll, superannuation and so on.
- Providing mentoring and guidance to the teams.
- Ensuring that all freelance crew and cast be paid in accordance with the producer’s obligations under the law.
- Ensuring the final delivery of the projects to Screenwest in a timely manner.
- Liaising closely with Screenwest throughout the process.
The EP, in consultation with Screenwest, will have approval over the following:
- Final scripts
- Key Heads of Department
- Budget and scheduling
- Rough cut and fine cut
- Final cost reporting

Submission Materials:
- 1-2 page proposal outlining:
- how the applicant has the ability to deliver the projects on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard;
- how the applicant can ensure that the necessary creative and logistical assistance is given to the filmmakers to deliver their projects; and
- how the opportunity to act as Executive Producer will benefit the applicant and their career.
- Current CV of the producer, and any key personnel involved in delivering the projects.
Shortlisted applicants may be required to partake in an interview to expand on their approach and ability to successfully deliver the initiative.

Assessment criteria
Screenwest will competitively assesses eligible expressions of interest against the following criteria:
- The applicant’s track record
- The benefits to the filmmakers and the Executive Producer
- The ability of the Executive Producer to deliver the projects on schedule, on budget and to a high standard
- The ability of the Executive Producer to deliver creative and logistical assistance to the filmmakers
