Role: Edit Assistant Attachment
Dates: Monday, 3 February – Friday, 7 March 2025 (five weeks)
Location: Fremantle, WA
Production Company: Smashing Films
Under the expert guidance of Editors Ivan Davidov and Andrew Stodart, the successful candidate will:
- Assist in managing the picture and sound rushes, along with using Da Vinci Resolve to import and transcode.
- Prepare media for Editors.
- Help with logging footage, marking key moments and creating rough shot lists.
- Assist Editors in laying down rough cuts or assembling sequences.
- Participate in creative discussions, brainstorming sessions and problem-solving with the editing team.
- Learn the wrangling process on location.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest BTL Crew Capacity Program – Applicant Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicants will possess:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated and genuine commitment to developing a career in post-production.
- Basic skills in Excel and Word.
- Some experience working with Avid Media Composer.
