About the Attachment
Role: Edit Assistant Attachment
Dates: Monday, 8 July – Friday, 13 September 2024 (10 weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: VAM Media
The successful candidate will complete 10 consecutive weeks as a paid Edit Assistant Attachment under the expert guidance of Editor, Noah Norton and Edit Assistant, Andrew Slate, where they will:
- Assist in managing the picture and sound rushes, along with using Da Vinci Resolve to import and transcode.
- Prepare media for Editors.
- Gain experience working in post-production for a documentary series.
- Gain an understanding of post-production workflow, working alongside the Edit Supervisor, Offline Editors and the production teams.
- Acquire organisation skills to track and manage a high volume of footage.
- Gain an understanding of the post-production schedule.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- Good knowledge of Avid Media Composer software.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated and genuine commitment to developing a career in post-production.
- An interest in marine life and underwater cameras is also desirable.
