A Professional Attachment opportunity is available through the Screenwest Crew Attachment Program on an upcoming Documentary JAMIEN HUDSON FROM SKY TO SEA Applications close Monday 15th June 2020 at 5:00pm AWST.
About the Attachment
The successful candidate will complete a 6 week Edit Assistant Attachment under the expert guidance of Jonathon Rowdon where they will:
- gain hands on experience determining the most efficient and economic management of rushes,
- learn to make day-to-day decisions to ensure post-production runs smoothly,
- gain an overview of post-production workflow and systems,
- provide technical and practical support to senior editor,
- assist with the management of all media, digitizing material, moving media files into a shared storage environment
- gain an understanding labeling systems and logging,
- gain hands on experience assisting with syncing picture and sound rushes using timecode, manually syncing if necessary.
- assist in the hands-on editing of a shorter 60’ version of the program.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- Assistant editing experience in a professional capacity.
- Previous experience with editing software (Avid preferred).
- Experience in media management and preparing rushes for editors.
- Initiative, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and take direction from editors and senior staff.
- Ability to work independently, to tight deadlines, whilst taking direction from your offline editor mentor.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to work remotely from home.
Attachment Conditions
It is expected the successful Attachment will:
- Comply with the Producer’s workplace rules and requirements for safety and behaviour.
- Comply with all lawful and reasonable directions given to the Attachment by officers or employees of the Producer during the Term of the Attachment.
- Keep confidential any and all confidential information of the Producer that comes into the Attachment’s possession.
