About the Attachment
The successful candidate will complete a six week Assistant Producer Attachment under the expert guidance of
Natalie Bell, Cath Trimboli and Sam Lara where they will:
- work alongside the two project Assistant Producers and assist them in their day to day on location and in the production office duties.
- Work closely with the 2 x Field Directors.
- Work on location, liaising with third party stakeholders and contributors.
- Develop and understanding of the consent requirements and administration paperwork needs of an Observational Documentary series including:
- consent forms,
- expenditure reconciliations,
- schedules,
- contributor management, and,
- communications
- Be exposed to the story selection process in an Observational Documentary setting.
- Come to understand the multifaceted role that is the Assistant Producer – both creatively and organisationally.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- Previous experience as a Production Coordinator and / or Researcher.
- Great communication skills – confidence approaching contributors.
- Attention to detail.
- A collaborative nature – take instruction and guidance well.
- An ability to demonstrates initiative.
- An ability to demonstrates good Story instincts.
- A Full clean drivers’ licence.
- Full availability to work late nights and weekend.
The series is being shot in a Children’s emergency department so applicants must be comfortable in this type of high-pressure environment.
Attachment Conditions
It is expected the successful Attachment will:
- Comply with the Producer’s workplace rules and requirements for safety and behaviour.
- Comply with all lawful and reasonable directions given to the Attachment by officers or employees of the Producer during the Term of the Attachment.
- Keep confidential any and all confidential information of the Producer that comes into the Attachment’s possession.
