Screenwest has opened a competitive round to provide travel support to a limited number of WA documentary filmmakers to attend AIDC in 2023. Applications close Monday, 6 February 2023 at 5.00pm AWST.
Screenwest has opened a competitive round to provide travel support to a limited number of WA documentary filmmakers to attend the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC), either in-person or virtually in 2023.
AIDC is Australia’s premier annual event for documentary and factual screen content. The conference will run from Sunday, 5 March to Wednesday, 8 March 2023 in-person and online at ACMI in Melbourne, with the online international marketplace taking place from Thursday 9 March to Saturday 11 March 2023.
About AIDC 2023 travel funding
Successful applicants will be provided with a link to register directly with the conference. Screenwest will cover the cost of successful applicant tickets directly with AIDC. If you have already purchased a pass, and are successful in receiving travel support via Screenwest, you will be reimbursed by AIDC.
For in-person travel funding, Screenwest will also offer a set funding amount of $1,000 to assist with flights and accommodation. As this is a set amount, a budget will not be required as part of the application process.
How to apply
Screenwest will allocate a number of spots to First Nations and/or WA practitioners from diverse or under-represented backgrounds.
Only one representative per film project, company or organisation is eligible to receive support. As this is a competitive round, support is not assured even where an applicant meets all the minimum eligibility criteria. Screenwest will endeavour to support a number of emerging practitioners.
Practitioners that can demonstrate how attending and having access to key industry stakeholders to progress their project(s) will be prioritised.
Applications close Monday, 6 February 2023 at 5:00pm AWST.
