Applications open for travel funding to attend the Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC) 2024
Screenwest has opened a competitive travel round to support WA screen producers attending the Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC) 2024 on the Gold Coast from 28 October – 1 November. Applications close Monday, 7 October at 5:00pm AWST.
Screenwest has opened a competitive travel round to support WA screen producers attending the Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC) 2024, taking place on the Gold Coast from the 28 October – 1 November 2024.
AIMC provides an opportunity to gain insight into the local and international theatrical marketplace, discuss the latest technologies and network with industry executives from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, US and Europe.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
A set amount of $1,500 to assist with flights and accommodation will be provided. A budget is not required as part of the application.
Screen Australia has secured a limited number of registrations for AIMC 2024 which will be available to successful travel funding recipients.
This is a competitive round and only a limited number of practitioners will be supported.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a Western Australian Resident and meet the general eligibility requirements set out in the Screenwest Terms of Trade.
- Hold the underlying rights to at least three strong projects in development with some level of market interest.
- Provide a summary of projects being taken to market (including proof of market interest) and a rationale for attending the market.
Screenwest will only fund one person per project/ company to attend AIMC 2024.

Applications can be made through Screenwest’s SmartyGrants portal.
Applications will be assessed against the criteria as outlined within the Travel Fund Guidelines.
Applications for AIMC 2024 close Monday, 7 October at 5:00pm AWST.
