Applications open for travel funding to attend SCREEN FOREVER 2023
Screenwest has opened a competitive round to provide travel funding to a limited number of WA filmmakers to attend the Screen Forever Conference in May 2023. Applications close Monday, 13 March 2023 at 5.00pm AWST.
Presented by Screen Producers Australia, Screen Forever is Australia’s premier screen industry event. This year’s conference will be held at the The Star Event Centre on the Gold Coast from 3 May – 5 May 2023 (Conference + SPA Connect Market) and 9 May – 10 May 2023 (Global Market Online).
Uniting the pillars of entertainment, media and technology, Screen Forever is one of the largest congregations of screen industry professionals in the Southern Hemisphere and attended by The Who’s Who in Australian screen business – the leading Australian and international industry practitioners involved in all aspects of producing, creating, writing, directing, distributing and financing screen content across film, television, games, interactive and online.
About Screen Forever 2023 travel funding
Screenwest will cover the cost of successful applicant passes directly with Screen Producers Australia. If you have already purchased a pass, and are successful in receiving support via Screenwest, you will be reimbursed by Screen Producers Australia.
Successful applicants will receive a set amount of $1,000 to assist with flights and accommodation. As this is a set funding amount, a budget will not be required as part of the application process.
How to apply
Eligibility
- Must be a Western Australian screen practitioner.
- Must meet the general eligibility requirements set out in the Screenwest Terms of Trade.
- Applicants must hold the underlying rights to at least two to three projects in development with market potential OR genuine market interest in at least one project.
- Applicants will need to provide a summary of projects being taken to market (including proof of market interest) and a rationale for attending the market and a list of proposed meetings. Applicants that can demonstrate how attending and having access to key industry stakeholders will progress their project(s) will be prioritised.
Only one representative per screen project, company or organisation is eligible to receive support. As this is a competitive round, support is not assured even where an applicant meets all the minimum eligibility criteria. First Nations practitioners and practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
