A competitive travel round has opened to support Western Australian animation producers to attend Annecy International Animation Film Market (MIFA) 2025. Applications close Monday 17 March 2025 at 5:00pm AWST.
Screenwest has opened a competitive travel round to support Western Australian animation producers to attend Annecy International Animation Film Market (MIFA) 2025.
MIFA will be held in Annecy, France from 10 – 13 June, within the Annecy Animation Festival which runs from 8 – 14 June 2025.
The market is now considered the leading global event for the animation industry and includes unprecedented opportunities for businesses to network, promote their capabilities, services, talent and IP and recruit new talent in a competitive sector.
Ausfilm in partnership with Screenwest, will be leading a delegation of Australian animation companies and hosting an Australian stand at MIFA 2025 to showcase Australia’s animation sector.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
Details
- Successful applicants will receive a set amount of $5,000 to assist with flights, accommodation and registration. A budget is not required as part of the application.
- This is a competitive round and a limited number of practitioners will be supported.
- Successful applicants must book and pay for their own flights, travel insurance, accommodation and costs associated with registration and exhibition at the event/s.
- Screenwest will only fund one person per project / company to attend MIFA.
- Screenwest recognises the work that goes into the preparation and submission of applications. Due to the anticipated high volume of applicants, we are unable to provide individual feedback on individual applications.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a Western Australian resident and meet the general eligibility requirements set out in the Screenwest Terms of Trade.
- Hold the underlying rights to a slate of at least three animation projects in development that have received some level of market interest.
