Screenwest, in partnership with Carers WA, have opened applications for four professional mentorship opportunities for practitioners living with disability, on the disability led initiative, Filming Our Future: Our Choice, Our Voice, Our Way. Applications close Monday 19 April 2021 at 5pm AWST.
The Filming Our Future: ‘Our Choice, Our Voice, Our Way’ initiative will explore the way sports and physical activities can drive inclusion and community cohesion and provide the opportunity for a Western Australian Producer or Production Company to work with emerging storytellers and practitioners living with disability.
The chosen production company will employ mentors to work with four people living with a disability, providing these four paid training roles:
- Writer/Director,
- Director of Photography,
- Sound Recordist and,
- Editor.
This initiative is occurring over three stages, including the two below which are also underway:
- Applications for a Western Australian Producer or Production Company to develop and produce the short projects.
- Call Out for stories from storytellers living with a disability.
Applications for four, paid mentorship opportunities for practitioners living with disability are now open and close Monday 19 April 2021, 5pmAWST.

How to Apply
Applications for this stage of the initiative must be completed in full and submitted by 5:00pm AWST on Monday 19 April 2021.
Applications will be accepted through the Screenwest SmartyGrants Portal, with application forms going live on Monday 15 March 2021. Do not email applications directly to individual Screenwest staff members.
