Screenwest is pleased to launch its new Workforce Capacity Program – Documentary, with applications now open.
The fund is made possible through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ workforce capacity support for the WA screen industry, announced by Culture and Arts Minister, Hon David Templeman earlier this year.
The Workforce Capacity Program – Documentary supports Western Australia documentary production companies who offer paid on the job training opportunities to local screen practitioners. The training opportunity must be for a 6–12-month period and be in one of the following roles identified for development:
- Shooter Director;
- Camera;
- Line Producer/Production Manager;
- Editor;
- Story Producer.
Other roles will be considered case-by-case, in line with the evolving needs of the WA screen industry.
Screenwest will offer up to $50,000 per company in this one-off initiative to boost workforce capacity in the sector. Funding is limited and competitive.
Screenwest encourages applications from First Nations Australians and people from historically underrepresented groups.
