Applications Open for Documentary Development Investment Fund

Screenwest has opened applications for the Documentary Development Investment Fund. Applications close Monday, 9 November 2020 at 5:00pm AWST.

The first documentary development investment funding round for 2020-21 will open today, with a second proposed round set to close in March 2021.

Screenwest is aiming to provide the screen industry with as much notice as possible as to when they can expect upcoming rounds to close within the financial year.

The core program guidelines will likely remain the same for the next two rounds, with any minor changes to be communicated to the industry with sufficient notice.

Members of the industry are encouraged to follow the WA Screen Industry Calendar to keep up to date with the latest funding round and Screenwest event information.

About the Fund

Documentary Development Investment funding is designed to support Western Australian companies and individuals by investing in the development of documentary and factual programming.

Documentary projects must be one of the following formats to be eligible for funding:

• Feature
• Single
• Series
• Large format (e.g. IMAX)
• Innovative documentary project

Successful applicants may be offered up to a maximum of $25,000 per application.

How to Apply

The full guidelines, eligibility criteria and the SmartyGrants application form are available on the Development Funding page of the Screenwest website.

All program guidelines are to be read in conjunction with the Screenwest Terms of Trade.

An application receipt will be automatically forwarded to the applicant from SmartyGrants to confirm that Screenwest has received the application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact Screenwest if an application receipt has not been received within this timeframe.

Please note: the submission portals for all funding programs close automatically at 5:00pm AWST sharp on the specified due date.

Allow plenty of time to submit your application in case of unanticipated problems. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. If you are having any trouble with the application form, please contact the Screenwest office on +61 8 6169 2100 as soon as possible and we can assist.
