The Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) has opened submissions for the 2019 FACTory International Pitching Forum.
AIDC is seeking applications for feature-length documentaries, one-hour singles and series with global appeal in development or production. Submissions are open to a vast array of genres and 10 projects will be selected to pitch in this competitive forum.
Applications close Wednesday, 12 December 2018.
About The FACTory
Proudly presented by Film Victoria, The FACTory is AIDC’s annual one-day pitching forum for documentary and factual screen projects, on Tuesday, 5 March 2019 during AIDC 2019 in Fed Square’s Deakin Edge auditorium.
The FACTory provides a unique opportunity for practitioners to pitch screen projects directly to an assembled group of top-level local and international buyers, commissioners, and distributors in a live event setting; receive expert feedback on the spot, and seal financing deals.
AIDC CEO & Conference Director Alice Burgin said, “We know that Australian documentary-makers tell great stories that, while local in perspective, will resonate beyond our national borders.
“The FACTory is designed with this in mind and is geared towards connecting exciting new projects with the who’s-who of the global documentary and factual community.”
Previous documentaries pitched at The FACTory include:
- Richard Lowenstein’s anticipated Michael Hutchence biography MYSTIFY
- Annie Goldson’s KIM DOTCOM: CAUGHT IN THE WEB
- Dan Goldberg’s FOOD FIGHTER, and
- Upcoming project CHINA LOVE produced by Media Stockade and pre-sold to ABC Arts
