Applications Now Open for Online Pass Support, limited Travel Funding for Screen Forever in 2021
Screenwest has opened a round to provide up to 10 Western Australian filmmakers with Silver Access passes to attend Screen Forever online and up to 5 passes and travel funds to attend the physical event in 2021. Applications close Monday, 11 January 2021 at 5:00pm AWST.
Having found its new home on the Gold Coast in 2021, for 35 years, SCREEN FOREVER has championed the talent, passion and achievements of the Australian screen sector. In 2021, it will be an online and physical event (COVID-19 updates and travel health advice pending). Being held at The Star Event Centre Gold Coast, 16-18 February 2021, SCREEN FOREVER is viewed as one of the premier events on the screen industry calendar.

Engage in an in-depth dialogue about contemporary content at over 20 keynote addresses, panels, workshops, roundtables, pitching opportunities and networking events.
A Silver Access pass will give you access to digital sessions, SPA Connect market & digital networking.
A Gold Access (physical attendance) pass will give you all the Silver inclusions + physical sessions & physical social events.
About Screen Forever 2021 Support
Online pass only
Screenwest’s online pass only support will cover the cost of an online only Silver Access ticket to Screen Forever in 2021 for up to 10 applicants. Successful applicants will receive instructions from Screenwest to the pass registration to book their own tickets.
Physical event funding (COVID-19 updates and travel health advice pending)
Screenwest’s support for up to 5 successful applicants to attend the physical event in 2021 will be for a set amount of $2,500 for applicants to buy their own tickets and book their own travel and accommodation. Screenwest will not be liable for any additional costs that occur outside this set amount and advises that applicants should attend the physical event at their own discretion if using Screenwest funds.
When Applying
An applicant must first meet the following eligibility criteria in order to be competitively assessed for support:
- Must meet the general eligibility requirements set out in the 2021 Screenwest Terms of Trade.
- Practitioners must hold the underlying rights to at least three projects in development with market potential OR genuine market interest in at least one project.
Additionally, if applying for one of the five physical/travel attendance opportunities:
- You must be able to demonstrate how your physical attendance at the event will progress your project/s substantially.
- You must have genuine market interest in at least one project, that will benefit from physical attendance at the event.
- Please note that as this is a competitive round, support is not assured even where an applicant meets all the minimum eligibility criteria.
- Only one representative per film project, company or organisation is eligible to apply.
Applicants will need to submit:
- A Completed SmartyGrants Application Form.
- A Current CV (one page only; a bio will only be accepted in addition to a CV).
- A summary (no more than one paragraph on each) of at least three projects being taken to the market, and confirmation of any current market interest that you may have, via letter or email.
- Note: Applicants applying for physical event/travel funding support must include proof of genuine market interest.
- A Rationale as to why this online pass is of particular importance for your project/s and career at this time.
- Note: Applicants applying for physical event/travel funding support must be able to clearly demonstrate how their physical attendance at the event will progress their project/s substantially.
Screenwest will competitively assess all eligible applications against the following assessment criteria:
- The applicant’s track record
- Quality and marketability of submitted projects
- Applicant’s understanding of each project’s market potential
- Identified rationale and outcomes of attendance as it pertains to the applicant and the project/s submitted. Additionally, for physical event/travel funding; how attending the event in person will elevate the applicant’s career and progress the project/s significantly
- Progression of the projects submitted if they have been included in previous travel applications
- Potential economic and cultural benefits to Western Australia.
