About Screen Makers Conference
Now in its fifth year, Screen Makers Conference is the leading industry event for emerging and early-career screen content makers across Australia. Held 26-27 July in Adelaide, Screen Makers Conference brings together Australian writers, directors, producers and other screen creatives to share knowledge, connect with the industry, and pitch projects to the national marketplace.
The 2019 conference will feature talks from influential and experienced screen industry power players including:
- Susie Jones, SBS Commissioning Editor, Documentaries
- Lana Greenhalgh, Foxtel Drama Executive
- Nerida Moore, Screen Australia, Head of Development
- Edwina Waddy, Roadshow Films, Australian Production Executive
- Jo Rooney, Nine Network, Co-head of Drama
Please visit the Screen Makers Conference website to view the full list of announced speakers and registration details.
This year the conference also offers producers and content creators the opportunity to submit a project to pitch at two separate events:
- One-on-One pitching
- Pitch-o-Rama
Please note: The Two-Day Conference Ticket is not eligible for any pitching opportunities.
One-on-One Pitching
This year the conference offers producers and content creators the opportunity to submit a project to pitch to marketplace representatives. Submissions must be made online and projects will be short-listed for pitching.
There is a limited number of pitching slots available and the process will be competitive. Please note: They are seeking market-ready pitches only.
Attendees of the event will be able to draw from the speakers’ experience in different areas of the screen industry, including film, TV, documentary and online. They will also be able to chat to people inside the film market in a series of industry round tables.
This event provides an unmissable networking opportunity that will help build relationships between regional content creators and members of the screen industry and fast track careers.
Applicants for one-on-one pitching must be registered for FULL SCREEN MAKERS PROGRAM of the Screen Makers Conference.
Submissions open Monday, 10 June 2019 and the deadline for the One-on-One Pitching Market is Monday, 1 July 2019.
For more information visit the pitching section of the Screen Makers Conference website.
