OUTBACK TRUCKERS Season 8 back with more Aussie stories

OUTBACK TRUCKERS Season 8 premieres on Tuesday, 5 May 2020 at 8:30pm AWST on 7Mate.

The Western Australian factual staple produced by Western Australia’s Prospero Productions will again showcase some of Australia’s unsung heroes as they drive the biggest trucks on earth along the toughest roads and loneliest highways in the world.

The series, back for a mammoth eighth season follows Australia’s Outback Truckers, men and women in monster rigs, on marathon runs, through some of the most inhospitable terrain on the planet.

“We’re so excited to be launching season 8 of OUTBACK TRUCKERS on 7MATE.  If there was ever a time to witness the importance of Aussie truckers to the nation, its now, in COVID-19 times. And like never before, it’s important we have Aussie stories made by Australians,” said Julia Redwood, Executive Producer of OUTBACK TRUCKERS.

She added, “We’re incredibly proud to have a series that’s now in its 8th season.  The continuing support from Screenwest has been key to its success. Over its lifetime it’s provided hundreds of jobs to Western Australians, as well as employing several WA companies, all telling stories about Aussies by Aussies for Aussies.”

“OUTBACK TRUCKERS has been one of Western Australia’s most successful exports, airing in the UK and Europe to captive audiences looking for a taste of the Australian outback. Screenwest has been pleased to support the series to season 8 to showcase some of these enthralling stories, from a unique Western Australian perspective,” explained Willie Rowe, CEO of Screenwest.

OUTBACK TRUCKERS Season 8 Premieres at 8:30pm AWST on Tuesday, 5 May 2020 on 7Mate.
