The Revelation Perth International Film Festival, in collaboration with Continuance Pictures, has announced the Continue Short Film Initiative.
Continue Short Film Initiative
Offering a unique opportunity for filmmakers with feature film or long-form television ideas to demonstrate proof of concept through the production of a short film, the Continue Short Film Initiative will provide up to $10,000 in production funding.
Scripts that demonstrate their ability to translate into feature film and long-form TV concepts are invited to apply for the funding. Although part of an international call, Western Australian filmmakers are provided an opportunity to go the front of the queue thanks to the partnership between Revelation and Continuance Pictures.
Local submissions will be assessed by a panel of WA screen industry professionals with the projects meeting the criteria and strength of concept being sent directly to the Continuance panel for final consideration. The final successful selection will be submitted to ShoeBox and CJ Entertainment via Continuance Pictures for a first-look feature production with Umbrella Entertainment as an Australian affiliation.
Revelation Festival Director Richard Sowada said it was tremendously rewarding for the festival to be a central part of the creative process.
“This initiative provides WA filmmakers the opportunity to get their work and ideas in front of two of the region’s biggest production companies and make the giant leap between forms.”
How to Apply
This is an international call, but WA filmmakers are provided the opportunity to go to the front of the queue in this collaboration between Continuance and Revelation.
Concepts can be submitted on the Continue Short Film Competition page of the Revelation website.
