Video and FilmCongratulations to Western Australian emerging producers Josh Gilbert and Georgina Isles who have been selected to participate in Screen Producers Australia’s 2017 Ones To Watch program.

Ones To Watch is a mentor program for emerging producers from around Australia who create content for big and small screens.

Screen Producers Australia (SPA) will match Gilbert and Isles and each successful Ones To Watch participant with a leading, experienced screen industry producer, who will provide expert one-on-one mentoring and career guidance.

After connecting with their screen industry mentor, the program will provide Gilbert and Isles with ongoing touchpoints to the industry and unparalleled career opportunities. These include exclusive opportunities at the SCREEN FOREVER conference and access to exclusive industry initiatives.

Gilbert is a founding member of Gamechangers Collective and currently producing A TEAM OF CHAMPIONS, a multi-platform documentary series for NITV and the AFL.

He is also packaging his first feature HOLLY & TYLER written by 2016 Bill Warnock recipient Aaron Moss and set to be directed by Kelli Cross.

“I’m enormously proud to have been selected. With such esteemed alumni, it’s clear that the mentoring and guidance provided by the initiative is vital to the development of emerging producers,” said Gilbert.

“This initiative helps emerging producers open doors and being championed at the Screen Forever conference in November is going to be an absolute highlight.”

Isles’ short ADULT SCHOOL, funded through Screenwest’s Elevate Short Form Development and Production Initiative, screened at Flickerfest in January 2017 and will next been seen at Revelation Film Festival in July.  She has held numerous Production Manager roles on feature films, most recently BREATH, directed and starring Simon Baker, which was shot in the Great Southern in 2016.

“The Ones To Watch program has provided ongoing opportunities for my colleagues and peers and I’m super excited that I have been chosen to participate and represent WA on a national level,” said Isles.

The Ones To Watch program is proudly supported by Screenwest.
