Acclaimed Producer Tony Ayres and Executive Chairman Michael McMahon of Matchbox Pictures will be the first guests of the East Perth Creative Hub In Conversation series on Thursday, 9 February.
East Perth Creative Hub In Conversation events aim to provide insights and networking opportunities featuring talented and high profile practitioners from the screen industry. The WA screen industry will have intimate access to expert knowledge and advice to progress their projects and careers.
Tony is Executive Producer of ABC’s Glitch, Showrunner and Director for The Slap, is a multiple award winner, screenwriter and a founding member of Matchbox Pictures.
Michael was a lawyer before moving into producing in 1999. Prior to 2016 he was Matchbox Pictures’ Commercial Director responsible for all development, production and distribution deals. He now serves as Executive Chairman of the company and Executive Producer.
Tony and Michael will be sharing their top tips for pitching to broadcasters, managing that relationship throughout the production process, and ensuring that the door is wide open for the next commission (even if the first project doesn’t quite work).
Tickets are strictly limited, so make sure to register here. Hub members have a seat reserved but must still register via the link to confirm their attendance.
The event will also be streamed live to the Screenwest Facebook page if you are not able to attend in person.
Be sure to watch this space for who will be the next East Perth Creative Hub In Conversation guest, with the next event looking to be locked in for the following week
