Screenwest will farewell Development and Production Executive Franziska Wagenfeld at the end of June 2021.
After coming to Western Australia under the assertion that she would stay for just over one year, Franziska Wagenfeld departs Screenwest after an incredible three-year term.
Commencing with Screenwest as the Factual Executive, Franziska transitioned to the role of Development and Production Executive, to manage funding programs and special initiatives and provide strategic advice to WA filmmakers.
Rikki Lea Bestall, CEO of Screenwest said, “Franziska has demonstrated a clear passion for advancing the careers of Western Australian filmmakers and has provided robust and insightful guidance to many during her time at Screenwest. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”
Franziska Wagenfeld explained, “I’ve absolutely loved supporting the amazing creativity in WA, from our factual series to far-reaching docos such as The Fathering Project and Laura’s Choice, to the compelling ABC children’s drama ITCH, web series such as Homespun, and impressive upcoming feature films such as How To Please a Woman and Sweet As. There are so many projects and creatives I’d like to mention. It has been an honour and I look forward to our many docos and dramas in development coming to fruition.”
She added, “The WA film industry, supported by Screenwest with its new CEO Rikki Lea, is poised for impressive growth. It’s been great to have been part of the team.”
Franziska’s final day at Screenwest will be Wednesday, 30 June 2021 and as such projects where she has been the main point of contact should be directed to the following Screenwest team members.
