AWG Screen Workshop: ‘Structure Strategy’ with Barbara Connell
This popular one-day workshop run by the Australian Writers' Guild (AWG) will examine the numerous approaches to story structure used within the screen industry. Story structure should not just be treated as a rule or a guideline but as a lifeline when drafting and rewriting a feature film script. Participants will discuss a range of structural paradigms, their common and overlapping elements and the unique characteristics they offer a writer when strategising the development of a script. In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to put the paradigms to use to construct a high-level architecture (key beats) of a feature film project they are pursuing either as a first draft or a re-write. This workshop will take place on Saturday, 6 October 2012. Book your place by Thursday, 4 October 2012. Read More
