‘Perished’ selected to screen at SXSW 2012

14 February 2012
Gruesome zombie tale, Perished from WA emerging filmmakers Stefan Androv Radanovich and Aaron McCann has made the official selection at this year's South by Southwest (SXSW) music and film festival in Austin, Texas. Perished was funded through the Film & Television Institute's LINK initiative and makes up one of the few Australian films selected to screen at the prestigious festival which takes place next month.

Perished will have its world premiere at SXSW and screens three times as part of the Midnight Shorts section of the festival.

Stefan and Aaron plan to attend the festival to promote the film and their other upcoming projects.

"Perished aims to be one of the first West Australian horror shorts to make a big impact on genre filmmaking internationally and show off the talents right here in Perth to the world stage" says Aaron.

"The networking opportunities and workshops that SXSW offers will help us get our feet in the door and further our careers in feature films to keep making feature films in Australia."

SXSW takes place from 9-18 March.

In 2011, the film festival was attended by over 60,000 people and screened 140 features and 153 short films.
