A1.4 Emergency Funding

Type: Investment
Funds Available: up to $15,000 (per application)
Assessed: Internally

Purpose and Scope:

ScreenWest assists with the development of quality film and television projects intended for production in Western Australia. It does so by providing financial support for well-conceived projects with market potential, which have a strong likelihood of being produced.

ScreenWest's main objective is to develop and sustain the local production industry.

Where exceptional circumstances can be demonstrated (e.g. to obtain time critical footage), along with a strong letter of interest from a broadcaster, ScreenWest Management will consider Emergency Funding. Investment up to $15,000 can be sought under Emergency Funding. Applications will be assessed at anytime.

Eligibility:

Projects will be assessed on:

  • The quality of the idea
  • The ability and/or track record of the creative team
  • Market potential or interest and likely audience appeal
  • The likely chance of the project being realized in WA (e.g. in terms of budget, locations, etc);
  • Potential benefits to the WA Industry.

All applicants must meet the WA residency criteria as outlined in the General Guidelines.

How to Apply:

All Emergency Funding applications must include:

  • A completed General Application Form, including a Development Budget;
  • A one page detailed synopsis
  • A clear rationale for why the project should be considered under Emergency Funding Guidelines;
  • CVs of the project principals and, if applicable, a company profile indicating past success in producing and pre-marketing projects;

If posting or hand delivering, please submit your application UNBOUND (please do not use staples or binders as all material will be photocopied).

For further information on how to apply please contact the ScreenWest funding team.

Applications seeking Emergency Funding, Matched Funding or State Location and Crew Support Services can be submitted at any time.

Where funding in excess of $50,000 is sought, decisions are made by the Minister for Culture and the Arts. Applicants will be notified of the Minister's decision within five working days of notification of that decision to ScreenWest.
