On A Wing and A Prayer on YouTube

07 September 2010
The ABC TV documentary On a Wing and a Prayer is currently in production but you can already see some of the magic on YouTube with the filmmakers posting new footage every day from a nesting hollow of the rare Carnaby Black Cockatoo. Watch as the eggs are hatched and follow the story for seventy days until the birds are old enough to leave the nest.

The documentary will follow the incredible life cycle of a family of rare Carnaby Black Cockatoos as they migrate to breeding grounds in the south-west of Western Australia.   Every milestone in their struggle to survive will be documented through their engaging life story.  The odds are against them and hope for their future lies in the hands of one man, Wildlife Investigator Rick Dawson.  Photographed in HD, On a Wing and a Prayer will capture a remarkable, never filmed before journey, of life and hope for one of Australia’s most loved, but endangered birds.

The film is produced by Jodie and Leighton De Barros for Sea Dog TV International. Check out the official website and connect with the doco on Facebook .

On a Wing and a Prayer is produced with the assistance of ScreenWest and Lotterywest.
