MIPTV and Cannes Travel assistance round closing soon
ScreenWest is offering at least mid-career filmmakers up to $6,250 in travel funding to attend either MIPTV or the Cannes Film Festival Market. Applications close February 15, 2010.
MIPTV is held in the Palais des Festivals, Cannes, from April 12 - 16, 2010. It is a unique event showcasing the world's leading audiovisual content before the eyes of the industry's key decision-makers. For more information visit the MIPTV website .
The Cannes Film Festival Market is labeled as "the year's most prolific filmmaking event" and accompanies the Cannes Film Festival. It runs from May 12 - 23, 2010 and attracts over 10,000 participants from more than 92 countries. This market plays a crucial role in defining worldwide trends in independent cinema and is comprised of practitioners across all sectors of the film industry.
A limited number of grants are available. Applicants must ensure they address the following selection criteria:
- Must be a WA Resident (as defined in the ScreenWest Terms of Trade)
- Must be a mid-career producer with at least one recognised credit
- MIPTV applicants must have at least one well-developed TV project and applicants for Cannes Film Festival Market must have at least one well-developed feature project.
To apply for travel funding to attend either MIPTV or Cannes Film Festival Market please visit ScreenWest's funding page and select Travel Assistance (Markets and Conferences). Please clearly indicate in your application whether you wish to attend MIPTV or the Cannes Film Festival Market as the selection criteria is specific to each event. If you wish to apply for both you will need to complete two applications.
Applications will be assessed on a competitive basis as soon as possible after the closing date.
