Bill Warnock Award: Submissions close Monday
01 February 2012
The Bill Warnock Award provides development assistance to emerging feature film writers with a feature script in development that has market potential and shows the writer's ability to develop long form narrative. The recipient of the Bill Warnock Award will be teamed with a professional script consultant. Applications close 5:00pm Monday, 6 February 2012.Submissions for the Award are open to West Australian resident writers who have not received previous funding from ScreenWest.
The Award recipient will receive a support package valued at $6,000. This includes a minimal writer's fee plus a professional consultation period with a script editor/mentor. The script editor/ mentor will provide one-on-one support to the successful applicant to complete a further draft of their script.
It is anticipated that this multi-stage development process will provide the writer and their project the opportunity to attract a producer.
Applications are sought that demonstrate dynamic writing, compelling characters and market appeal.
