West Coast Visions films off to Toronto
31 August 2010
Two Western Australian debut features films Blame and Wasted on the Young have been selected to screen at this year’s prestigious Toronto International Film Festival in the Discovery program which showcases innovative new filmmakers. Both films were supported through ScreenWest’s West Coast Visions initiative, a program designed to develop promising local filmmakers.
Blame is the first feature film for WA producers Ryan Hodgson and Melissa Kelly (Factor 30 Films) and Victorian co-producer Michael Robinson (3monkeysfilms) and writer-director Michael Henry.
Wasted on the Young is the first feature film for West Australian producers Aidan O'Bryan and Janelle Landers (WBMC) and writer/director Ben C. Lucas.
Both teams will be attending the festival which is also a key market door to North America.
ScreenWest congratulates both teams on the fantastic honour and wishes them a successful turn at the festival.
