‘Lockie Leonard’ Season 2 to ride into the US market
The live-action children's comedy/drama series ‘Lockie Leonard' (Season 2) has been sold to Disney XD for U.S. distribution and will premiere in June 2010.
Lockie Leonard, produced by Goalpost Pictures Kylie Du Fresne, is based on the much-loved Tim Winton books and set against the backdrop of the spectacular surfing cost of southern Western Australia. The series follows Lockie as he navigates his way through young love, his caring but definitely odd family, his attempts to reach for the stars, and the intense experiences of being a teenager.
"We're very excited to bring Lockie Leonard to the Disney XD line up. We feel this series delivers on many of our core Disney XD brand values for our key demographic, boys 6-14" said Tracy McAndrew, Director Acquisitions & Co-Productions, Worldwide Programming - Disney Channels Worldwide.
Producer Kylie Du Fresne said: "While a quintessentially Australian story and setting, the values, humour and acute observations about teenagers and family life are universal and at Goalpost we've always been confident that the series would resonate with international audiences. We're delighted that Lockie Leonard has found its U.S. home with Disney XD."
Lockie Leonard (Season 1 & 2) is distributed internationally by the Australian Children's Television Foundation (ACTF).
Lockie Leonard is proudly supported by ScreenWest and Lotterywest.
