Fans of documentaries, music, photographic art and desert landscapes will find something of interest at the Arts Margaret River Documentary Club tonight, Tuesday March 16 at 7pm.
The main feature will be Ooldea, the WA doco which follows composer Iain Grandage as he searches for a musical connection in the Great Sandy Desert.
It will be followed by Salt, the story of award-winning, internationally-renowned photo-artist Murray Fredericks on his annual pilgrimage to the heart of South Australia's Lake Eyre.
Photo art is also being featured in the Foyer Gallery, with Sue-Lyn Moyle's In Transition exhibition, featuring photographs exploring displacement and self-discovery in Hong Kong, China.
The Arts Margaret River Documentary Club is a joint project between local filmmaker Jennifer Gherardi, of JAG Films, and Arts Margaret River for its 2010 Arts & Culture Program.
The Club dates for the rest of 2010 are May 18, July 20, September 21 and November 16. All screenings are held at Arts Margaret River's volunteer-run cinema at the Margaret River Cultural Centre in Wallcliffe Road. Guests are encouraged to bring supper to share and wine can be purchased at the venue.
