Help develop and finance your feature drama screenplay with industry consultants Duncan Thompson, Victoria Treole, Sue Murray and Vincent Sheehan at Pre-Vis. Furthermore, up to two projects will receive $15,000 in ScreenWest development funding. Applications to participate in Pre-Vis week close June 2, 2009.

Pre-Vis is a screenplay development and marketing program aimed at assisting drama projects move from story development through to financing. Held at the Australian Writers' Guild (AWG) in Leederville from July 6 to 10, 2009 the program is intended for well developed scripts that would benefit from frank creative and commercial interrogation.

Introducing the consultants...

Formerly a Project Manager at the Australian Film Commission, Duncan Thompson has worked with industry greats such as Jane Campion, John Sayles and Gus van Sant.  He has guided projects such as Rowan Wood's Little Fish, and Cate Shortland's Cannes hit Somersault, through the New South Wales Film and Television Office's Aurora intensive screenplay workshop. Duncan has taught screenwriting in Paris, Berlin, Stockholm, London and Melbourne. 

Victoria Treole established the film consultancy company Blue Cat Pictures in 2005 to provide services to film companies, agencies and filmmakers on development, packaging, financing strategies and marketing. In 1994 she established Miramax Films' Australasian office and directed Miramax's film development, production and acquisitions activities in the region alongside the TV and publishing arms of the company for over a decade. 
 
Sue Murray is Executive Director of Fandango Australia, a production company established in February 2002 with Rolf de Heer, Richard Lowenstein, Domenico Procacci and Bryce Menzies.  At Fandango she was Executive Producer on Cannes Special Jury Prize winner Ten Canoes, Tom White and Dr Plonk, and co-producer on Alexandra's Project.
 
Vincent Sheehan is a founding partner of Porchlight Films, a Sydney-based independent production company established in 1996 by Vincent Sheehan, Liz Watts and Anita Sheehan. Porchlight Films has produced award winning short films, documentaries, television programs and feature films including the independent box office hit Mullet and Walking on Water which won five Australian Film Institute (AFI) Awards. His most recent production, to be released soon, is Prime Mover with Writer/Director David Caesar.
